Meet our new Senior Consultant: Maarten Tuinhof

Last August, Maarten joined NewForesight as Senior Consultant. Welcome Maarten!

To get to know him a bit better, we asked him a few questions:

What made you apply for NewForesight?

Six years into my professional working life, I feel energized in a role at the center of projects where I can put others in their strengths. I want to continue doing so, and in the process re-direct my career to make a broader impact. Sustainability has always played a major role in my life. As a teenager, I was ashamed of my parents cutting back on our flying. And I wanted to eat meat every day, just as my friends in school did. In hindsight, these are valuable lessons to me, which combined with my professional experience I now want to put into use in my role at NewForesight.

Are there books that you can recommend?

I just finished Net Positive by former Unilever CEO Paul Polman. Great read in my opinion, interesting to get his thoughts and read along on his advice towards other CEO’s.

What is something that you can’t wait to work on at NewForesight?

Where do I start? Managing three projects at the moment, it’s hard to choose which one I like the most. They are totally different in nature, but in a way, all really fit my ambitions. The most important thing is that I get to add value from my project management experience. My experience up until now has been mainly focused on corporates. I can’t wait to use what I’ve learned in the past years to bring about change in governments, multi-stakeholder platforms and corporates –  but now with a different end goal.

If you could give an internal training or lecture for your colleagues, (work related or not) what would it be?

That would either be ‘manageable project management’, ‘effectivity and efficiency at work’ or ‘how to walk on water during the next Polder games’.
