As the founder of NewForesight, Lucas Simons plays an important role in driving the transition towards a sustainable economy. 

He is an internationally recognized thought leader on systems change and TransMission, a public speaker, master facilitator, trainer, lecturer at business schools and author of the successful books ‘Changing the Food Game’ (2014) and ‘Changing the Game’ (2021). Lucas: “I truly believe that if we want a more sustainable outcome, we have to change the rules of the game”.

• For his impactful work and achievements Lucas was honored as the Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, named Ashoka Fellow for being a systemic Change Maker and is a member of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI). Moreover, he was named six times as one of the top 100 most influential sustainable thought leaders of the Netherlands. 
• Through his work he has been active all over the world, in over 16 different sectors and markets and he is the trusted advisor of many of the top trade and industry, governments, NGOs and leading multilateral organizations.

• At the age of thirty, Lucas set up Utz Certified, that became the largest certification program for sustainable coffee, cocoa and other agri-commodities. Lucas also founded SCOPEinsight, a business intelligence company dedicated to set the world standard for making Farmer Organizations more professional.

Lucas holds an MSc in Environmental Hygiene from Wageningen University and an MBA with merit from Tias-Nimbas Graduate School of Management.
