About

With a background in both animal science and sustainable agriculture, Katinka combines scientific expertise with practical fieldwork experience. Before joining NewForesight, she coordinated research and fieldwork for an international project on occupational health and wellbeing in South African vineyards, collaborating with the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute and the University of Cape Town.

Experience

  • Fieldwork Coordinator for FarmCo South Africa, leading recruitment strategies, training local research assistants, and ensuring ethical data collection in sensitive social contexts.
  • Research Assistant for the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute and UCT, supporting occupational health research in the vineyard sector.
  • Skilled in project coordination, community engagement, survey design, and sustainable agriculture practices.

Katinka holds a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a Master’s degree in Sustainable Agriculture, both from Stellenbosch University.
