Changing the Game

Changing the Game is the practical entry point into the TransMission transition framework.

It brings together a book, a four-day intensive course and keynote speaking to help leaders understand, design and accelerate system change.

Across sectors such as food and agriculture, energy, construction, logistics, ICT, textiles and health, the core challenge is the same: to structurally redesign markets so they become sustainable, circular, regenerative, inclusive and fair. Changing the Game gives you the language, models and tools to do exactly that.

About The Course

Changing the Game is a four-day intensive course for project leaders, managers and decision makers who want to initiate and lead complex transitions in their own systems.

The course is built around the TransMission framework, a mission driven transition approach that combines leading transition theories with more than 20 years of practical experience in market transformation. Hundreds of change leaders have already taken this course and it consistently receives outstanding feedback.

Our Trainers

You are trained directly by the authors of Changing the Game:

Lucas Simons

Founder of NewForesight and SCOPEinsight, with more than 20 years of experience in business and sustainable leadership. Lucas is an award winning advisor to organisations such as the World Economic Forum, Ashoka and the Clinton Global Initiative.

He is the author of Changing the Food Game (2014) and co-author of Changing the Game (2020) and is known for delivering real system change in global value chains.

André Nijhof

 Professor of Sustainable Business and Stewardship at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. André focuses on embedding sustainable entrepreneurship into core business processes.

He leads several executive education programmes and teaches in MSc and MBA programmes at Nyenrode. He has supervised numerous PhD studies and authored and co-authored many publications on sustainability and stewardship.

Course FAQs

What are the costs of the course?

The four-day course fee is €4,490 (excluding VAT). This includes a copy of the book Changing the Game by Lucas Simons and André Nijhof.

We strongly recommend attending with more than one person from your organisation to increase the chance of successful implementation. Each additional participant from the same organisation receives a 25% discount. Payment is due in full before the course starts. If you experience any difficulties with payment, please contact us.

The course runs in the Netherlands on the dates listed above, usually in spring and autumn. Additional courses will be organised abroad. Dates and locations will be announced once confirmed.
In-company trainings are also possible. We are currently developing a one-day executive course. Updates will be shared through our newsletter.

The four-day course is taught in Dutch when there are no English-speaking participants. For in-company training we can deliver in both Dutch and English.

The course is open to people working in sustainability who want to achieve structural change. It is especially relevant for managers, leaders and practitioners in any sector, market or type of organisation.

If you are new to sustainability, we recommend first reading Changing the Game to familiarise yourself with the concepts.

The best preparation is to read Changing the Game and explore the articles on this website. After registration you will receive preparatory assignments.

We also invite you to come with an open mind, ready to learn and unlearn, and to step into your leadership role with a concrete plan.
