Willem Jansink

Willem works as Analyst for the Organization Sector & Strategy domain. He believes that a systems-thinking approach/mindset is crucial for solving the complex and interrelated societal and environmental challenges the planet is facing.  He uses his knowledge and skillset to enable organizations to create long-term value by accelerating sustainability transitions – securing a more sustainable future for the generations to come.

Willem holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a research master’s in Environmental Science and Governance Studies. Specializing on climate change and the global energy transition, he looked at how companies can make their operations more sustainable and in what way governments can benefit from decarbonizing their economies.

Prior to working at NewForesight, Willem did multiple internships and research projects on various sustainability topics, always trying to cultivate effective collaboration among stakeholders. Examples include strategy and roadmap development for a more sustainable Dutch flower bulb sector, designing innovative financing tools for West-African agri-entrepreneurs switching to more sustainable farming practices, and conducting ESG/risk analyses on Central American fruit companies to strengthen their export to the European market.

In his spare time, Willem loves travelling (especially by bike), enjoying the beach, taking long walks in nature, and everything related to electronic music – from collecting long-forgotten house gems to DJing in his local clubbing scene.
