After culminating her bachelors degree in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology with minors in International Development, International Relations and Conflict Studies from the University of Amsterdam, Robin pursued her passion and interest for sustainability issues. Her Masters in Science from Utrecht University in Sustainable Development – Earth System Governance opened her eyes to the immense complexity behind sustainability challenges.
For Robin, the challenge is finding sustainable, technical, and culturally relevant solutions for ongoing environmental issues. The conglomeration of these elements is found in sustainable agriculture. Robin was particularly interested in the combination of innovation and sustainability focusing on approaches towards enhancing the adaptive capacities of smallholder farmers. Her master thesis took her to Tanzania where she analyzed how weather forecasting methods through mobile innovations could enhance the resiliency of smallholder farmers in the mist of climate vulnerabilities.
Before embarking on her NewForesight journey Robin worked in diverse cultural settings and collaborating with stakeholders from varied cultural backgrounds across Europe, Africa and the Middle-East.
