Mariana Butrich

 

Mariana became interested in sustainability while doing her BA degree in Geography and Environment in Peru, where she is originally from. This program allowed her to dive into environmental and social phenomena and their dynamics; specifically in contexts where vulnerable communities are subjected to poverty and environmental degradation. Since then, her purpose became clear: making this world a more fair and better place for everyone. Developing towards this purpose, she pursued a MSc in Sustainable Business and Innovation at Utrecht University which provided her with knowledge and practical experience on sustainable business models, impact measurement, and the use of system thinking to develop a solution-oriented, analytical, and critical view of sustainability challenges.

Prior to working at NewForesight, she worked at a sustainable fashion B-Corp startup where she created new business opportunities on Circularity and sustainable value chains and developed collaborative impact measurement tools. She also worked as a sustainability consultant focusing on CSR strategy implementation and sustainability reporting.

At NewForesight, Mariana works as an analyst in the Impact Investment domain. Using system thinking and data-driven approaches, she wants to contribute to strategically allocate resources to create integrated market-driven solutions, with the objective of solving current sustainability challenges in different sectors.

In her free time, Mariana loves playing and watching football, swimming and going surfing. She also enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures.
