Workforce nutrition: Improving awareness and access to nutrition at the workplace

One in three people are malnourished in the world. Malnourishment includes issues related to being underweight, obesity, nutritional deficiencies, and non-communicable diseases; and is rampant across developing and developed countries. About 58% of the global population is expected to spend at least 1/3rd of their adult lives at work. Therefore, the workplace is an optimal point of intervention to contribute to the improved health and well-being of individuals.

NewForesight has been closely engaging with its partners to help employers adopt and strengthen their workforce nutrition programs to contribute towards the health and well-being of people.

We have been engaging with The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) since 2018. GAIN is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the United Nations in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition.  NewForesight also started engaging with The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) recently, who joined forces with GAIN to encourage employers to take action on improving the nutritional outcomes for their workers and employees.

We have been working with them on various topics including:

Building a business case for workforce nutrition

We supported GAIN in understanding the business case for employers to adopt workforce nutrition programs. We developed an in-depth understanding of costs and benefits of nutrition programs, and related KPIs to measure these. Also, we examined the reasons to invest in nutrition, the level of evidence required and the willingness of organizations to invest across supply chains.

Building the strategy for the Workforce Nutrition Alliance (WFNA)

We supported the Workforce Nutrition Alliance co-founded by GAIN and CGF, to outline the strategy to meet their vision. NewForesight is also supporting the WFNA in implementing these strategies.

NewForesight is your partner in helping you design and integrate workforce nutrition programs into your organizations.

We combine years of experience in developing strategies with excellent skills in data and design thinking/human-centered approach. We can build on your existing commitments and resources to tailor-make effective solutions for you.
